It's a new mod for halflife, http://www.planethalflife.com/hostileintent/
I'm new here, so I don't know how many of you are into FPSes like Halflife, so excuse me if no one cares

few pointers:
- the game's been in development so to speak for 4 years
- actually, the project has restarted from scratch 3+ times, the latest build has been in development about a year
- graphics = bad
- mapping = bad
- animations = exist, but are not programmed in...
- gameplay = slow

on the positive side, it's better then the first CS beta :p

if HI isn't your game, you can always turn to natural-selection .

I think I have heard of Hostile Intent, Natural Selection I have been meaning to get, but never did. I mostly prefer single player ones, like They Hunger 1-3, and Point of View

natural selection is much fun. ive been hooked on it for the past 6 months or so, delicious stuff. i even had a few short stints with clans (remind me not to join one again...)

if you ever get it, make sure to gimme a call and I'll show you the ropes

Those are both good, and I've played both for some time..

But without a doubt, the absolute best mod of all time is
P.O.V. , where you get to play not as Gordon Freeman, not as Adrian Shepherd, not as Barney Calhoun - but Xonxt, an alien slave.
It gives amazing and logical insight into the life of Xen inhabitants, explains a lot of things (though it's not official, it does make sense), has new weapons, etc. etc. etc.
It also ties in amazingly well with the real Half-Life story, and during the game you spot Freeman, Shepherd, AND Calhoun. Fantastic! Amazing!
The ending is incredibly good - even better if you've beaten Blue Shift.

I can't suggest this enough. Play it. Zap fools with your lightning. Use chum toads. Be the alien.

That actually looks interesting. I've never liked Half-Life, but POV looks worth a try, so I'll probably download the game or something.

I think you actually mean Azure Sheep, another single player mod by the same people who did Point of View.

No, I don't actually. If you've beaten Blue Shift, the ending of POV is even better - and the ending of Blue Shift is actually made better by the ending of POV.
Though I have played Azure Sheep as well.

I got partly through PoV, but I got tired of going down to 5 fps everytime I charged up my attack. lame video card... die die die.

Truth be told, I STILL think you mix up the two.

At the end of Blue Shift, Barney Calhoun drives away in a car along with some scientist dudes. At the end of Azure Sheep, Just Barney drives away in a car with Kate, the female guard. At the end of POV, the alien gets picked up by a car driven by a male and a female guard - Just Barney and Kate, obviously.

Yeah, but I mean, come on, the parallels are obvious.

What a copout.

Come on, there's nothing wrong about admitting to having made a fool of yourself...

Look - Blue Shift had a shitty ending. They left in a van. Calhoun obviously was a big conspiracy theorist and was fascinated by the idea of aliens (as attested to by the books in his locker).
While it may not have been intended specifically for Blue Shift, I like to maintain that while it may not have been intended, this completes the tie-ins they had with the Half Life series including the appearance of both Shepherd and Freeman.
Anything that makes Blue Shift suck less is OK in my book.
