These two snaps were taken a few hours apart at virtually the same coordinates. Where did all the effing water come from??
Edited to add: To return to the lander, I simply swam across ocean, wheras I had gotten to the location over hills and valleys. I imagine it is simply a glitch, unless someone tells me otherwise.

| | | | The Parsis locations are different... that may have some influence on that :\ | | | | |

| | | | Well, no the parsis locations are the same, as is the quadrant. Only time changed. Catnip everyone? | | | | |

| | | | Well yeah, ofcourse the parsis is a little diffrent, a planet moves within it's solar system.
the images: 'valley' is at coordinates: 35.17 'flood' at 25.12.... So there's quite a bit of distance betweet those two spots so topographically it may differ quite a bit...

| | | | Well.. quite a bit.. It's still in the same sector.. (1.41) so.. My guess is that the sector has both that valley, and a sea... It can happen.. | | | | |

| | | | The valley snap was the last that I took before I quit the program, but I was on dry land when I hit the escape key. When I ran the program a few hours later, I was bobbing in the middle of a sea. | | | | |

| | | | Odd... Does the planet have any moons? I don't know if tides exist in NIV... | | | | |

| | | | The Location Parsis varies the last number from 31 to 32...
Did you try going to that location again? Is it still water?

| | | | That's because the planet orbits teh sun, 1 unit parsis isn't very much. | | | | |

| | | | Hm, yeah, but does it alters the pseudo-random generator? | | | | |

| | | | I guess not. The pseudo-random generator (I'm guessing here) sets all the planet properties and then syncs them with the time AFTER they have been created. | | | | |

| | | | Uuuh.. A Sun is an object. It's not the name of a Sun.... | | | | |

| | | | Really? I thought 'sun' was one of the names for our star. | | | | |

| | | | Yes, Sun, Sol, etc. It's the name of our star.
But at least I have seen it being used on sci-fi several times when aliens refer to their star as something like: "This is one of our suns, blahnameofthestarblah."
