Oh my god yes. I don't think the series would have been nearly as memorable without such great tracks, S1-3&K had some of THE BEST music for its generation. The japanese and NA versions of sonic CD were a departure from the usual fare but I thought they were good in their own right.
Also, I challenge you to find a game with better music production using N64 hardware than this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLDJhm4Arzk

He was such sonic fan that he pestered Sega to make music for it.
He is uncredited because near the release of the game he started to get bad media attention and whatnot...

I love Ari Pulkkinen's music. He is famous for the Angry Birds Theme. You can check out some of his music at his website. The Trine stuff is awesome.
The Alchemia Soundtrack is a bit different, but I really like the first two tracks.
Braid has a nice selection of music.
Please go and download the World of Goo Soundtrack. It is free, and it is great!
You can listen to the entire Minecraft Alpha album online, and purchase if you desire. It features some tracks from Minecraft, and some inspired by Minecraft.
The CaveStory soundtrack is cool, but the CaveStory+ soundtrack is not. Personal opinion.
I loved the soundtrack of Tengen "Fantasy Zone" on the NES. All the music is in this YouTube video. I like playing parts of the first track on my Xaphoon. My favorite track starts at 6:57.
Fate Town Theme 1 and Town Theme 2 have a special place in my celtic-loving heart. (Okay, that sounded weird.)
Floating Islands Game (FIG) is free, really fun, super awesome, and has some cool music. Get it all here.
The free game "Battle for Wesnoth" features some really nice music.
You can listen to the floaty Crayon Physics Deluxe music here. One of the tracks is by Alec Holowka. He does great music. He's one of the duo behind Aquaria.
Electronic music? PPPPPP - The VVVVVV Soundtrack.
If you're into sweet orchestral remixes, check out Video Games Live - Vol. 1 and The Greatest Video Game Music on Amazon.com. I am sure they are on iTunes somewhere as well...

 | | | | ![]() Austin Wintory's "Threshold" from the Journey soundtrack - Not only some of the most beautiful game music, but some of the most beautiful music period.
I've also been listening to Amon Tobin's tracks for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory soundtrack. Still one of the most unique soundtracks. Not something I could put into a genre, but it's a mix of live-recording samples and electronic beats and effects. Totally sets the mood for a stealthy spy games...
And of course, Bastion wouldn't have its brilliant mood without Darren Korb's soundtrack.
Thanks, Kristos. I didn't know that World of Goo's soundtrack was up for a free download. I adored that game. It's got a some serious themes in it, but it's so cute and charming at the same time. I think the same goes for the score. Dramatic, but still a little playful at times. | | | | |

I see Full Throttle soundtrack was mentioned here back in 2004.
I'd like to point out an album by The Gone Jackals that counts as an OST for this great adventure and which I literally love: Bone to Pick (I rarely leave home without Legacy playing in my headphones).
John Hallur's ambient for EVE is worth listening to, if you're into that kind of music. And on that note, O.R.B. sountrack too.
I guess we had some Jeremy Soul here, so no links just a mention from a Morrowind TES fanboy.
I was very impressed by first Portal's theme, not only by that GlaDOS little song, but all the music playing in the game was wonderful. I just hope Portal 2 sountrack is as athmospheric (yep haven't played it yet, happy me!).
Prince Of Persia - Warrior Within had some powerful sound in store, but outside the game? Not really that cool for some reason.
