There are a few various issues with it, which were mentioned already by Cryo... but all in all... I like it! I enjoy changes to this site. keeps things fun! i like having alex back, even if it's just for a little while..

Oh.. And I've been switching between May Eleven and default.

I also like summer storm, but the bottom bar doesn't match with it's color of yellow. Maybe grey or blue or greyish-blue or something.

Also, Alex, so he says, will be around for the next month at least.

Beautiful, classy, good for a change... it will only take a while to get used to, but that's not a complaint. I like it, myself.

I think I'm the only one using 'Mahogany'. I like the brown-ness.
oatmeal, are you crazy?

I used that in the beginning, and I think SC still uses it.

No actually, I changed back to the default.

One thing i don't like is the logged members bar. I liked more with the colored names, or at least with colours indicating member rank.

Don't like it. Making posts appear in comic strip style bubbles above the avatars just wastes space, requiring a lot more scrolling up and down the pages. These bubbles also appear to be images which cause a slight increase in page load time. Nothing drastic, but it was noticeable just now when I saw incomplete looking bubbles. Headers in the "Author's Title" style is kind of backwards. Isn't the subject a bit more important than who started it? Layouts won't take for me, possibly from security/privacy settings, but I'm not getting a warning. There used to be links to a few main Nocits threads on the Noctis home page. When I went there just now I was greeted with a completely new look and no list of threads meaning I had to go to the full board and work through them. Not a problem, but it did take extra time to realize this and figure out how to do it. I also think the text is in a smaller font than before, at least by default. I don't care for that. I'll have to see if I can change it. I can, the layout too, but only if I Save before I Apply -- this seems backwards. I get the idea, but being used to changing Windows settings where you can Apply before Saving, because saving finalizes the settings and applying them is a temporary check, this seems backwards.

I don't see the need for a complete visual revamping of the boards. Of course, I was also originally against a new web board system coded from scratch. You could choose one from a number of pre-made systems instead. Why make things harder on yourself and code your own? Obviously all that's over with. But what was wrong with things this time that it needed to be changed like this? I'm all for content over appearance and this looks like just a fancy change to make things look better. To me, that's unnecessary. I'd rather see simple and straightforward, easy to find information, than having to deal with stuff like this. And once again, it suggests that if Alex has time to do this, why aren't there things like inboxes or (more) updates on Noctis V? Obviously he can spend his time however he wants, but I personally would rather see it spent on other things that people are waiting for than fixing things that aren't broken.

NIV isn't broken.

"That people are waiting for". Did you read what I wrote? Like I said when the board changed -- were people anxiously awaiting a new web board? No, they were waiting on a new version of Noctis. And they still are. But what comes first, a new web board look. I never saw people going -- "you know what this site needs? A totally new look to the web board." Why not give people what they want more first?

I wasn't. The most important point on every Alex project is that they're FREE. So, you can't expect anything at anytime. Just wait. You should recognize the good work, and if you want Noctis V, then... wait.

I am also waiting for NV, but I have the patience to wait. NV isn't something you can get on demand, it is a hobby project.
If Alex decide to change the forums, than it is his decision.

Alex changed it because he wanted to, not because something was wrong. You can change the fonts, the links can be replaced etc. And Alex doesn't like using pre-made systems, its why he made postline in the first place.

And list of threads? You mean the new posts button? Thats there, its down on the bottom bar "*p"

And as to why he didn't work on Noctis, he was working most of the time, and I'm guessing what little free time he had, he spent on doing this because he wasn't able to work on Noctis.
i hate it here!

Most likely because it was a quicker short term project with a quicker finish time meaning a better feeling equalling more fun.

There's another thing as well.

Let's imagine that the only project he was allowed to work on was NV and its dependencies. That's a good thing, right? Actually no, it isn't. If Alex was forced to code NV, and only NV, he'd eventually end up staring at the screen thinking, "I CAN'T look at this thing any more, time for a break!" and leave the country for like 2 months. And then probably forget where he was, and not bother looking at the code ever again. Result - we never get NV.

On the other hand, if we allow him to work on a number of projects, then when he gets bored on ofe, he can work on another. And chances are that he'll be able to work a lot longeron the projects, which mean they get finished sooner. Result - everyone's happy. Except those who 'want NV *NOW*!'

So calm down, will you? Or would YOU rather code NV for us?
