| | | | Ok, so if your site doesn't work, immediatly blame NTL | | | | |
|
| | | | Well, that's what I always do
Funny thing is that I have an interview tomorrow for a job with none other than NTL themselves. If I get this I can try and LART some sense into the technical staff

| | | | Okay, I got a Web based JAVA IRC client for people who dont have/want to install other clients.
Here is the link: pjIRC Noctis IRC client
You can only connect to the noctis network there, because I didn't want to abuse of the server =P

| | | | Hm... I tried joining IRC today, but kept getting timed out. Probably has something to do with my school's firewall. A different IRC server that connects to port 6660 works, though. | | | | |

| | | | You tried the web based one?
I thought the connection was opened from the server... maybe not, tho.
|
| | | | Well SC's server is on 6667. That might not be open at your school or something. | | | | |

| | | | Yeah, but, theoretically, you would use just port 80 to connect to the web-based client, wich would in turn connect to the IRC server on port 6667. But being a java applet, I have no idea if the connection is done directly from your machine or not.
Wait...
Yeah, what I feared. The connection is opened from your machine. Another type of client could do the trick tho... will search for it.
EDIT: Seems you only need to add a Proxy to your JAVA settings. (The same can be done on any IRC client, btw) You need a special kind of Proxy, tho. They are called IRC bouncers. You can try one of those from this list: http://atomintersoft.com/products/alive-proxy/proxy-list/connect/

| | | | For those of you who are interested, I have just upgraded the IRC server to version 7 of ircd-hybrid, up from 6.3.
What does this mean? Well, we now have 18-character nicknames! That should be enough for anyone, unless you have a name like Cyberhacker31337LOLOMGWTFBBQGRASSLOL or something
We laso have half-ops again, like we did on Dynastynet. Still no services yet - I'm having problems getting them to work...

| | | | Bravo, dude. Brav-farkin'-vo. Good work, as always. | | | | |
|
| | | | Nice, but if only I could use "Hello! " | | | | |
|
| | | | Those of you who arre having timeout problems, can you see if you can connect to port 6668? | | | | |
|
| sun + black hole = fwoosh! |
|
 | | | | Though I was connected earlier (on port 6667), I can no longer connect (Trying both 6667 and 6668).
Correction: It worked on the 20th try. That happened to be with port 6668, by the way.
|
| | | | That's odd... *thinks NTL might be to blame* | | | | |

| | | | I'm having the same problem as SL. I have to let it retry connecting for a few dozen times before it let's me in. | | | | |
|
| | | | I'm having the problem as well, and as far as I know its still not letting L4 connect much, if at all. I think yesterday it just wasn't letting him back on. | | | | |
