| | | | It may not be the most interesting thing, and may have come somewhere up in the past, but I found out that a quartz planet's sunset\sunrise can only be viewed through a transparent rock.

The star looks all funky.

| | | | THAT'S COOL! I've landed sometimes on quartz planets, but never found anything like a transparent rock... I think that the rock refracts the sun's rays in such a manner that you can distinguish the sun from it's glowing halo. That funkish look of the star looks to me like some kind of rainbow... | | | | |

| | | | Really cool pictures. I especially like the last two: Over exaggerent star and the upside down glitch. | | | | |

| | | | Acutually that isn't an upside down glitch, I fell into a canyon and my head went through the wall or something and suddenly I could see underground. Those mounds you see are really pits. | | | | |

| | | | The black and white landscape reminds me of Out of this World for some reason. | | | | |

| | | | That picture with the towers is great. That is one of the reasons why I don't land on quartz planets:each time i land on a black dot on the surface map, I meet these kind of formations. About the "waterfall", what is it, exactly? I met something like that on one of my journeys. I'll post a message if I will find the picture... | | | | |

| | | | Waterfall? That's the surface of the planet that is turned towards the sun... Here, look at this image:

Basejumping rocks big time! Stand on one of those plateus which are a bit flat on the top, hold the mouse button, hit "j" just before you "fall" off the tower, and have fun! To prevent you from getting hurt (ha!), you should use the jetpack when you get closer and closer to the ground..
Also note, that the location I posted that screenshot of, has pretty damn perfect stuff in it.. 255 units high towers, with a ground of about 0 units high next to it..
What you can also try, is jumping from tower to tower... Is a bit hard though.. Some towers are far away from eachother...

 | | | | Hmmm... If I'm not mistaking, Ozoch's waterfall picture is taken on a Thick Atmosphere planet, such as this: <link cd/pngs/Flubberix/mywaterfall>. | | | | |

| | | | The "waterfall" had a different texture than a typical shiny wall, It absolutely glowed. Probably a shiny wall recieving sunlight.
But ya, basicly the same planet. cd/pngs/Ozoch/walls (21 Kb)

| | | | Yeah... And since you've got the visor down, it gets even blurrier..
Try the "nofogging" view (F) or the Infrared view, and see that it really IS normal ground, but just lighter because it's in the sun...
Blame the ground's texture...

| | | | I can't stand the visor being up, bluntly put, it looks like crap. I like the blurry thing better, I can fool myself into thinking it's not DOS.
Plus, I don't use NICE, named way too many things on the original and also have some really awesome spots on planets I've discovered and would hate for them to go.
|
| | | | Yeah, I normally have visor down as well, I actually went a long time without knowing about the visor at all, so that would kinda change things a bit. Too sharp with it up.
I don't use NICE because I can't.
