That's the overheating part. Nuts I say.

Really cool, both the bee ambush, and the hornet itself.
wah... waall-eee

I saw a documentary on BBC about those hornets, including the honey bees' defense system. It's freaking awesome, especially since a few of those hornets can easily wipe out an entire nest.

I wonder how much of my bees are needed to take down one of those hornets... Maybe only one or two (as their glue their wing), or LOTS of them (the "traditional" way of glueing him until it is too heavy to fly...)

I was going to ask why one of the two central panels are more bright... But I noticed that it is because one of them is not facing you (in fact they are not even mounted in a symetric manner regarding the angle).

I hope that someday we will be able to make a space station of the size of a city!

How about Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann? That may technically be a mecha, but it's supposed to be 10 million light years in height. I think they may have been exaggerating a little though, unless the galaxies it was standing on were really, really huge. I wouldn't expect it to be much more than a few hundred thousand light years tall, but I didn't have a long enough tape measure on hand to verify that with at the time.

Oh, nice flyby video. : )

A robot 10 million LY in height? How about something 10 million LY in width composed of superstring spinning at near lightspeed?

On another note, has anyone noticed how the ISS near the end of the video resembled a TIE fighter through the fuzziness(excellent detailed work there, by the way)?

It was more apparent a few missions back before the last solar panel was delivered:

Here's another flyby video, also is visible the Japanese H-II Transfer Vehicle, which was just attached to the ISS:

I watched Gurren Lagan (I think that someone on the IRC told me to watch it...)

The last episode is indeed bizarre (really, they use galaxies as saws! They throw them around like frisbees that when hit something cut it like a sawblade Oo)

Here's a good ISS picture:

You can see the solar panels of Zvezda

And a few plane shots:

"The plane is damaged and we're to heavy! Unless we eject some cargo, we'll fall out of the sky!"
"But, sir. We don't have any cargo!"
"Well, there's only one option left..."
<push>
"Waaargh!"

Great timing for your photo.

no scope, just the camera on tripod, still there's lots of room for improvement.
