KEO is OLD OLD OLD. When I was in talks with them about the possibility of making a documentary about the whole time capsule thing, they were set to launch at the end of 2004, and they were collecting submissions 'till the end of 2003. I don't see this happening any time soon.

Well, the article is from a few days ago, so I guess they restarted their project...

Wikipedia said:
The KEO project was conceived in 1994 by French artist-scientist Jean-Marc Philippe, a pioneer of space art. Messages began to be collected, with an initial launch date set for 2001. Technical feasibility demonstration and other various delays have moved the launch date for 2007/2008, contingent upon the successful completion of the Ariane 5 rocket.

PI: Una sonda si schianterà sulla Luna
http://punto-informatico.it/p.asp?i=58248

sorry, this is italian..
but I've not yet found an english equivalent..

The text say that the ESA (European Space Agency) will let SMART-1 capsule (launched on sept 2003) to "crush" (not to land) on the moon surface.
This will help to see the effects of a hard impact on the moon surface.
At the present time the date planned is 1 or 2 september.
The result will be visible by earth surface telescopes.
