| | | | come on, its been 7 years over due, alex has either given up work on it, or its been stuck in a corner for ever,i doubt NV will ever come out, i mean, what info have we got that it even exists?1 nought, no demo, no beta test, only a few screenies that could ahve been run up in anim8or. | | | | |
|
| | | | im pretty new here but ive been reading posts from 03 about it. I guess i just dont feel it as bad as some of the people who have been here for years.
<EDIT> But i guess you also have to consider that alex is having to write it from scratch in a completely different language. Either way I know its highly anticipated

| Lazers said: | | i mean, what info have we got that it even exists?1 nought, no demo, no beta test, only a few screenies that could ahve been run up in anim8or. | We got a completely original programming language, Linoleum, which has been made in-house by Alex alone. We got Alex's previous projects such as Crystal Pixels, StarWays, Postline, Avatar, and of course the past Noctis games - all of which demonstrates an extraordinary programming abilities and unique perspective on the artform. We also got Alex himself, well, from time to time at least, and I believe that if you have ever had a conversation with him, you will know he's not the kind of guy who would lie straight out about a project just to get attention.
| Lazers said: | | iv been to and fro from these forums for over a year | I've been here for almost the past six years, and I still don't complain. I am just happy with what Alex has already given us for free, which is a LOT.
| Lazers said: | | "noctis V was roiginally planned for 1999" | Lies. You will not find that sentence anywhere in these forums. Development began in 2001, with an optimistic hope of a 2002 release. There was no planned release date, as such.
We have had these threads before, many times in fact, and I was already sick of them back at the old phpBB boards - I find them to be redundant, unnecessary, childish and more than a bit rude. If you are sick of waiting for NV, then don't wait, there are lots of other things to do and places to go. As I have said countless of times before: the Noctis project is just an unpaid hobby, and there are much more important things that could and should take priority.
Give me one good reason for why I should allow this thread to remain open, because I would rather send it headfirst into oblivion this very instant.

Yeah everyone is anticipating the release, but the more we rave about it the more the curse takes over.

| | | | i agree im happy with wot we have got i think ppl should just lay off alex for a while. | | | | |

| | | | whats wrong with that? thats how a dev demo should be | | | | |
|
| | | | Its one man working on a project for no income. Whats not wrong with ranting about it? | | | | |

| | | | ![]() | Lazers1 said: | is it too mcuh too ask for a demo!?!?!? a little snippet that V really exists?! | We do have a few snippets, such as the Mark V Drifter model in Pitagora Scenery Editor (which is likely either the model, or close to it, that will be ingame), and we have an old version of the HSP Flight Simulator, which acts as a test pad for ideas that could eventually be included in NV. We also got the complete programming system which NV is made with - which, by the way, is programmed in-house by Alex alone.
As I said in my edit of my previous post: from all that I have seen here the past half decade, I do not believe Alex is the kind of guy who would lie straight out about a project just to get attention. Noctis V exists: there is no doubt about that.
