I love Poe, The Fall of the House of Usher and The Raven are both good. And can't forget The Tell-Tale Heart.
"Well - I began to write weird tales at the age of 7½ or 8, when I had my first glimpse of my idol Poe. The stuff was very bad, and most of it is destroyed; but I still have two laughable specimens done when I was 8 - "The Secret of the Grave" and "The Mysterious Ship". I didn't write any really passable tales till I was 14."-H.P. Lovecraftand Stephen King is a big Lovecraft (and Poe) devotee
Yeah ive read that before also, i think there are references here and there littered over his work referecing Lovecraft and Poe.
I came across one not so long ago, i can remember if i was in 'The Regulators' or 'It' but i certainly remember thinking "thats a lovecraft reference right there."
