Can the Hubble telescope see the hardware left on the moon by the Apollo missions? Probably not.

This is an excerpt of a Hubble image, at best resolution. The original can be found <a href=http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/entire_collection/pr2005029g/>here. I marked with a red cross the approximate landing site of Apollo 17.

These mages were taken at that time by the command module of Apollo 17 in lunar orbit. (Source website <a href=http://www.boulder.swri.edu/~durda/Apollo/ls_17a.html>here.) The left image spans about the area of the red rectangle above. The right image is good enough to show the lunar module of the ground and its shadow.

Also, <a href=http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/archive/releases/2005/29/image/f>here is an article with a nice picture of the lunar rover exploring that region.

Interesting, it *almost* looks like you can see the tracks. Though it could just be the jpeg artifacts (or the post-processing that stitched the images together). Just playing the part of the pessimist.
there's science to be done!

You have a good imagination, I can't see anything.

Quoted for truth. I can't see the tracks either, and it took me a bit to see the lander. Always have to remember with space photography that the shadows are going to be dark .

That picture is proof that there is life on the moon, as the lunar module is obviously in the center of a giant paw print.
going nowhere fast...

Maybe, a Deceptecon print?
