I think Spain has done the worst when it comes to screwing over Central America and South America.
And then around the turn of the 20th century the U.S. picked a fight with spain, and started messing with its former colonial posessions. (Heck, Theodore Roosevelt fought in that war with spain) Just look what ended up happening to Panama and especially the Platt Amendment with cuba.

Brasil had this stupid idea too, of buy land...

After we bought Acre, because EUA made us buy telling us about all the great amount of rubber there, someone stole one tree (Oo) and managed to create a rubber farm on India...

There are no need to say that after WWII we have a stupid land with a stupid forest where noone lives but drug traficants and sons of the persons that believed in a better life getting and selling all the rubber there.

Some of the "rubber soldiers" are still alive, soldiers that wear the US uniform and blame US for their puny life, they are brasilian soldiers that US took to Acre to get rubber to put on the off-road war vehicles tires, they promised money, a better life and all, and all that the rubber soldiers have is their old uniform from the time of the war, and some wooden shacks on the forest, near the wortless rubber trees.

I want to see Canada some day Teachers here in Brasil say that the Canada biggest problem is suicide, since there are few socioeconomical problems (like here that have a huge amount of murder, thief, drugs...)

Now who said they hate Canada?!
there's science to be done!
written by Yash on May 18, 2007 16:15
I did.
It's too far North.
It ought to break off and hang out nearer to the equator.

No but, seriously, I think the thread's a little pointless. Am I not allowed to say I hate it? Wouldn't a general thread in which you talk about where you come from be a bit more productive and fun and not reek so much of patriotism?

Ah, well.

Yash, Canada is not too far North, they just don't have the benefit of the Gulf Stream to warm them.
who needs titles?

Parts of it are really South.

Of course, some other parts are far North.

I just want to see why some people hate it. Maybe I shouldn't have put the !? though. Really, though, I don't see why too far north is a good reason to hate a country. There's a lot more to love than hate. I didn't say you can't hate it.

Edit: Research In Motion(maker of the Blackberry, as if you didn't know) is Canadian.

Plus, if there's ever a draft, I'm so going to Canada.

It's so unlikely that there will be a draft. As for being too far north, a lot of people, especially down in the southern states, really hate cold weather. It's less your country and more your countries weather that they hate

If I wanted to flee to anywhere I would go to Mexico. I already speak decent Spanish and I have a few friends down there who could help me find places to hide. Canada is cold.

i suppose if u knew some spanish mexico wouldnt be bad, but you dont have to worry about it in canada. ive been to canada once, and not too many people really were speaking french.(granted i was in ontario- i know things would be different in quebec) so overall, i like canada.

Canada is just in general more quiet though. They don't make a big deal out of things... But it's always the quiet ones you have to look out for *suspicious eyes*
And for the record, back when America was forming we did try to invade canada and make it part of the US. We thought the Canadin's would cooporate, but they didn't ;D.
