Wonderful! Thanks for quoting me as a proof of concept of your point! I find it lovable, peek.
let me give you something more to quote.

I keep doing my best to follow all the different points of view, trying to provide my help in joining them togheter in the best way possible, trying to be fair, useful, productive... but it seems that it's not enought for you. because in the end I apparently fail. as anyone else here it seems.
it's like if we're failing in being a production team.

we aren't.

since you mentioned me, wasting one of the best chances you got so far to stay quiet, I think it's time to let you know (if it wasn't clear enough yet) that I dislike your behaviour about the whole thing. since the beginning.

It seems that you want the whole thing done in a certain way. I'm afraid I'll have to tell you: this is not possible. and it'll never be.
To have things done as you want there's only one way: do it yourself.
This is.

now, how long are you going to entertain us all debating about how wrong we are in managing the project?

be careful.
providing help is ok.
bothering people is not.

I think I opened a can of worms..

If you guys need a website let me know, I'll be more then willing to share my bandwidth until the thing gets off the ground. Just let me know what type of web scripting you want.

Oh well, Peek is gone now. Like, completely. I guess he felt that was the best way out of this situation.

Really, telling everyone how bad they're doing is just making this project go nowhere faster.

Well, if we reach nowhere (+NaN LY), we'll just have to code up a way to get out of it.

fuck.
it was not my intention to be rude or anything, but the thing was going to be really boring. he was going on and on all the time with subtle sharp comments about people here being incompetent, and voting for something like if they were all not knowing what they were voting for, etc..
I'm really sorry, but there's a limit to anything.

and btw in this way I also broken a forum rule. wonderful.
now I feel guilty. disappointed and angry.

I did all my best so far to be always diplomatic and fair, paying attention never hurting people and such.
I'm going to reach my 1st kilopost (1000 posts), and I'm a member since mid august 2005, never lurking. Always being friend with anyone.
and now this?

There are too many people - all with different opinions - in the discussions. That's why it's taking so long to come to decisions.

I wouldn't worry about it too much Yayo, it's not like you resorted to name calling. Your post basically just said that you didn't agree with the manner in which he was posting.

To be honest, it did seem to me that Peek was kind of forcing his opinions a bit. (I'm not saying that was his intention or anything like that, it's just kind of how it seemed to me.) I appreciate him providing insight on doing a group programming project, especially if he has experience with it (Heck, I don't even have any experience doing a solo programming project. ) It just seemed like he already had a set list of things that he wanted done his way. (Or at least, the way he thought things should be done.) Again, I appreciate the sentiment, I like that he was trying to make sure this project was a success, but I don't really like that he seemed to close out other opinions and suggestions.

I waited to see if there was any further feedback as a result of what happened with Peek. Since I don't see any torches and pitchforks coming for Yayo, I'll offer these comments.

[IMHO: Peek has "gone away" before- seemingly he became disenchanted (i.e., impatient/disappointed/discouraged?) with the progress of Noctis V. {Further development of Noctis Mapper was put on hiatus as a part of this.} This current spectre of dissent is not acceptable? So give up?]

Frankly, Yayo, I don't see any reason for you to blame yourself. You did NOT encourage or directly cause a decision to leave. And that's what the Rule is.

There was no long running problem, no flaming or verbal abuse. You stated what you see as wrong and it wasn't meant to be mean. It was more like "Who died and made you King?", rather than "Shut up, Sphincter of the Universe!" (The second option is what I usually get- but at my age, I'm used to it.)

Yayo, you have been as much a useful part of the community as anyone. Continue to do what you are doing. There is no harm in having an opinion.

yeah, thanks.
probably I'm someway easy in blaming myself for anything that goes wrong when I'm involved. (you know lack of selfrespect, depression and all that shit.. mleh.)

I think Skinny said it pretty well. You shouldn't blame yourself, yayo. I think that Peek dropped out of the community for the same reason he seems to have dropped out of the development team: frustration that things weren't going his way. At least, that's how it appears to me. Either way, it's a sad turn of events but I'm quite sure it wasn't because of your one post, yayo.
