| | | | Really, many genres go well with noctis, but for me, it's usually some light classic jazzy background stuff. In my opinion it's good for
>quartz planet plains and hills in general >all those pits and gorges on felisian worlds >certain types of 'atmospheric' thin-at worlds >cruising around a system >dust trails and nebulas(if noctis had them, that is)

| | | | Deep discussion. I have a fast reply though, because there's something that's just perfect for every Noctis situation and environment:

| | | | I don't listen to music while playing. Most of my music isn't separated into genres, or can't be, so I can't do it without something unsutible starting up. Besides, it feels more natural without music. (But less natural without sound )
EDIT: Wow, that's an actual emote?

| | | | I have some time to answer better to the topic.
Me too, I play with no soundtrack at all. Silence works great. Period.
But sometimes it happens that I need to cover the noise coming from the outside world because it's just annoying.
In these cases I love putting on music that doesn't really distract your brains and otherwise just create a carpet of sounds that can fill the (more or less dense) atmosphere of the world you're visiting.
Sunn O))) are mainly playing electric guitars, but the effect (or rather why I love this music while playing Noctis) is that of white noise. Soundscapes of ethereal and mysterious nature. Take out the violence from what McWgogs listens to, for example, and that will be perfect, too.

| | | | Xela's Dead Sea album is pretty good, it fits Noctis' creepy and lonely atmosphere.
Sunn O))) is alright, but I'd rather listen to something quieter.
Eluvium is good, they're pretty ambient. It fits the atmosphere pretty well.

He did the soundtrack for the indie hit Hero Core, and he's got some sick original stuff as well.
It's very spacy 8-bit music, for me it goes really well with Noctis.
