That's a snapshot of the local version. I came to update it but fortunately decided to test it on Firefox. Heh. What a gnnnn... nice tic-tac-toe effect around frames!

This morning I spent quite some time duplicating a same frameset model to create "entrance" pages for permalinks. So I wanted to make sure, before duplicating any errors, that the model could validate with W3C. Well W3C said: there's no "frameboder" property for the "frameset" element. Fine. It's right. I remember I placed those weird specifications to satisfy all browsers, years ago. But we're in 2009, now the browsers may no longer need invalid properties that cause the frameset not to validate.

I was sadly wrong, and now, despite testing it all successfully on both MSIE and Opera, thanks Firefox, I have to re-insert the weird "frameboder=0" specification in the "frameset" element, other than in all its frames (the latter being the right thing to do according to W3C's transitional model).

I just wonder why did I ever take W3C compliance seriously...

Well, if it's a toss-up between the site being W3C Compliant and actually looking like it's supposed to, I would go with making it look like it is supposed to.

I consider W3C to be a guide for the most part. I've found much difficulty in website aesthetics between browsers, but it takes some tweaking here and there to get the desired result in all browsers..

Bah... don't mind, Ajax. It was just a random rant of the inner perfectionist who's still pissed for being unable to comply.

Sometimes I fall for it again...

Heh, Alex, that's why I don't like web development. The perfectionist in me won't let me make things non-compliant.

I understand being pissed about being unable to comply. However, the fact of whether or not you comply with W3C standards has nothing to do with the success of this site. You've done an awesome job in my opinion!

Sometimes you have to just say "Screw compliance!!!"

Thanks, it's not that I don't like how Postline came out. In effects, when I began seeing it again with a less severe eye on every possible imperfections, the whole picture looked surprisingly satisfactory. Most of the HTML code still embedded in PHP scripts (not yet templated) will even suck, but in effects, from a visitor's standpoint and as long as it generates a decent look and feel, who really cares?

...but it's not so easy. Not easy to be always so logical. Months ago, I wasn't seeing what I was doing, how I was tricking myself into seeking absolutes. It was like... wishing to solve a Rubik's cube from the inside of it. I had to analyze myself carefully from the outside to see the colors in whe wrong positions.

Not I. I certainly am impressed with your work on the site.
