Hey, fellow explorers! That's right, I'm back to explore again (assuming Noctis will work on x64). Someone give me an update on the state of things, if you don't mind. That community project thing, and the main Noctis. Thanks, and glad to be back!

Sure thing: as you can probably see, Alex has been around with a new version of Postline, and the focus right now is on ironing out the final bugs of it, and then get Lino 2.0 out to the community; kicking and screaming if needed. After that, it will finally be time to get back to Noctis V, which will no longer be developed with absolute perfection in mind, but rather as a Gargantuan Mess of Hacks, just like its predecessor. Hopefully, it won't be another eight years before we see it...

Other than that, there really isn't much to say right now; if someone is working on the community project, they are sure being very secretive about it.

I'm afraid I got bad news here: Noctis won't work natively in a 64 bit environment. Your best bet is to use the USB Boot Disk made by Selbio. I have not had the opportunity to test this myself yet, but it seems to be working, based on other's comments. Happy drifting!

I downloaded it, but I don't have any USB flash drives. Would it work with a CD?

Could you make a small partition of your hard drive and install it on there?

You wouldn't be able to save snapshots and the game state would never save, which kind of ruins it. If you're incapable of getting a free/cheap flash drive, I'd recommend what SC said: if you know how, just resize your Windows partition and squeeze in a FreeDOS install.

Nowadays you can get cheap, small USB flash drives pretty much anywhere. And I could imagine that you'd have other uses for those too, so I'd recommend getting one.
