01:23, Alex> More seriously, I suppose it helps developing a habit for "serializing" problems, splitting long tasks into shorter ones, until single instructions.
01:23, Neuzd whispers: Hey Mary Lou, fetch me the time in hexadecimal, will you, please?
01:23, Cryoburner> Mary Lou, what time is it?
01:23, Mary Lou> 151 server time, that is, my time.
01:24, Cryoburner whispers: That is, your time.
01:24, Alex> In that case you need a plan B. Mine's opening a kiosk.
01:24, Cryoburner whispers: Selling lemonade?
01:24, Alex whispers: Unspecified. Possibly magazines and comics.
01:25, Cryoburner whispers: Or how about a kiosk selling Lemonade and programming languages?
01:25, Alex whispers: I'll eventually attach USB pendrives to special editions with my software on.
01:25, Alex whispers: I could sell floors.
01:26, Cryoburner whispers: It could be called "The Lemonoleum Emporium".
01:26, Alex whispers: Good one. I'm taking note.
01:27, Cryoburner whispers: Lemonade, programming languages, magazines, and flooring... something for everyone! It's a guaranteed success!
01:28, Alex whispers: You could program while reading a magazine and sipping lemonade standing on a linoleum floor.
01:29, Shadowlord whispers: Mary Lou, how do you program while reading a magazine?
01:29, Shadowlord whispers: Does she ignore whispers?
01:29, Cryoburner whispers: No, she jjust ignores you.

00:00, E_net4> The program works, but it won't say good bye. And I think the thread suspension is doing that...
00:00, Alex> I just heard a rather loud crashing noise. Kitteeeeens! brb
00:00, E_net4> My cat likes doing that as well.
00:01, E_net4> Sometimes she even goes nuts.
00:01, E_net4> Most possibly the lack of food, but she's on a diet.
00:01, E_net4> probably*
00:02, Starchaser> My cat was so kind as to sit on my chest at 6am which I never got back to sleep from.
00:03, E_net4> I could use that... but maybe not at 6 am.
00:03, Stellanaut> One or both of my cats have a habit of snugging against my leg while I sleep
00:06, E_net4> My program still won't say goodbye!
00:07, Gligar wonders if the forum shoulf have spoiler tags.
00:08, E_net4> If you think they're necessary, I don't see why not.
00:08, Stellanaut> Possibly, though the thread itself can be tagged with a <<spoiler>>
00:08, E_net4> Never gonna give you up!
00:08, Stellanaut> What thread makes you wish for them?
00:08, E_net4> Never gonna let you down!
00:08, E_net4> Never gonna make you cry!
00:08, E_net4> Never gonna say goodbye!
00:08, Stellanaut> Ah sheesh, I get enough of that in random links
00:08, E_net4> My program just rickroll'd me passively.

Evil Mary Lou

13:54, Alex> The puzzling thing has been that the FTP server wasn't letting me in. Claiming login authentication failure. :/
13:54, Mary Lou> Precisely.
13:55, Alex whispers: I wonder if Mary's been changing the FTP password now.
13:55, Neuzd> Her irony suggests so...

22:32, E_net4> My next step of learning would be keyboard input. I still can't use ekey. *facepalm*
22:33, Alex> Um, perhaps the best part I could point you at should be the "user_interface/keystrokes" example.
22:34, Alex> Just look at its "user input loop".
22:34, E_net4> Will do.
22:39, E_net4> spawn: ? O.O
22:42, Alex> I might make a scheme of parts there...
22:43, Alex> Spawn is used to create a subroutine branch that returns to "user input loop".
22:43, Alex> Subsequently, return-like instructions like "leave" will return to "user input loop", which is the return point indicated to "spawn" as an argument.
22:44, Alex> Technically, "spawn" pushes that address on the stack, and leaves it there, then returns to its caller.
22:45, Cryoburner whispers: Doesn't he fight demons too?
22:45, Alex> This enables simplifying the flow of structures like generic user input loops. You can then issue conditioned jumps to enter routines that manage events. When the routines return, they'll return to "user input loop".
22:45, Alex whispers: No, I'd be infringing copyright if he did.

00:55, Mary Lou> What the hello.
00:55, Jam> What the meow!!!
01:02, Yoda__> hi jam
02:00, Speeder> Mary Lou, meow to me please?
02:00, Speeder> Mary Lou?
02:01, Speeder> Where is your meow Mary Lou?
02:01, Mary Lou> In a harddrive, in a folder, under the path '~anywhere/public_html/bb', of a machine called EZ17, locked inside one of many cubicles.
02:01, Speeder> Good to know that you don't lost it!

22:25, Neuzd whispers: If the LI+ ions stream randomly hits a stardrifter with a full tank, that would probably spark a chain reaction that would destroy Feltyrion, but it is also a very unlikely event...
22:37, Cryoburner> A small fuel capsule with its own vimana engine.
22:38, Neuzd> Yes, more or less. Isn't it cute?
22:39, Cryoburner> Starmap updates could be sent and received that way as well.
22:39, Cryoburner whispers: And chat messages...
22:39, Cryoburner whispers: Facebook and Twitter integration!
22:40, Neuzd> Well, it's more unpractical. The nice thing about shooting LI+ ions is that they are the fuel itself.
22:40, Neuzd> Sure you may need some kilos to actually send few grams to the other side of the galaxy, but still, wouldn't it be great?
22:41, Cryoburner> It could be like this... http://www.hiwiller.com/2010/04/29/if-mario-was-designed-in-2010
23:53, E_net4> Carry Lookahead!
23:05, Crickets> chirp, chirp, chirp

18:30, Neuzd whispers: That was very professional Mary Lou, thank you.
18:30, Mary Lou> Oh bitter chien.
