Meeting room?, Lucas-O's building, Ruins, travelling to Point One, [REDACTED], right now

While Speed-G chuckles at the names on these IDs, L4-O continues to be interested in the pictures, specifically ``his'' own. It's... actually pretty close to the real L4-O, except for the mouth being a bit different. (Surely L4-O remembers using a mirror in the immediate past? )

``Yeah," John-O answers Speed-G. "I wonder why they all had two words in their neames like that... and what's with the `C' in `Peter C. Whittle'?''

``Maybe it's clearance?'' suggests Paula-O.

``But then, wouldn't Brenda have a 'C' or something? Maybe a `D'?''

``Or a `B','' Lucas-O points out. ``It might not even be a clearance marker. Come to think of it, did they even have clearance out here?

``On second thought, don't answer that.''

"Yeah... this is certainly unusual for a naming scheme..."

"Like I'm really one to talk, though..."

Having waited quite a while, I note...

"Filling oOut paperwork orally takes time! Owhy am I talking olike this?"

While waiting for someclone to either exit the booths or return from the showers, I decide to have a better look at the booths, looking for anything I might have missed. Might they have any small labels on them? Or maybe button or levers. Or featureless exteriors!

L4-O comments on the weird naming scheme... not that he has any room to talk, what with the number in his name and all that. (Speaking of that number, I still need to assign a Troubleshooter team to figuring out why htat was put there. It's not the usual Computer-Approved method of assigning names to add a number to the end, after all. Not that "L" is a Computer-Approved name, either. I'm guessing that there was some sort of treasonous algorithm at work somewhewre, which, given that it involves Junior Citizens -- albeit from a number of yearcycles ago -- is concerning. Yeah... I should definitely assign a team for that.)

So, now what? Is there anything else? Any more ID cards, perhaps? Yes, there are a couple; Paula-O has found one. "Waaaaaaait a minute... that's Cyrus-R! What's he doing on one of these?"

Processing, Cloning station, Corridor 2, Sublevel 5, Simulation Building 1, Happy Fun Vacation Zone, LOL Sector, 2h32m30s ago

I doubt that Cyrus-R cares about appearing on some ID card in a simulation that's running on compnode-class hardware dozens of levels beneath him; no, he's still interested in finding out e v e r y t h i n g he possibly can about these booths by staring at them. Oh, and suddenly adopting some sort of problem with his voice. I wonder what that's about?

Well, given that your typical use of this station isn't likely to be staring at booths until their eyes bleed*, what is there to say? Am I to explain that the booth is externally painted in a plain gold colour, unlike confession booths which are grey? Do I have to point out the "Self-Service Processing Booth" signs on each booth? Or maybe he's just trying to waste time that could have been spent, say, chasing down those techs and trying to figure out what they did to his surveys and his pens in waiting for some clone to randomly appear in the processing room so that he can accost them there? As Erik-O would say, "Sometimes, you can't wait for clone to find you and collect surveys. It helps to go find them sometimes, too."

Though I guess that once he has one clone in his mind, he just can't let go and just has to process that clone before processing any others. Though that does call to question the whole thing witht he techs... surewly he could have waited around until they had finished their surveys? Then he would have had ten or fifteen extra completed surveys! Right now, he will have to content himself with the clone who just exited his processing booth wearing his complimentary towel and belt.

* Eyes not guaranteed to bleed when viewing a self-service processing booth.

"Who? I think I recall you talking about someone like that... what is he doing there?"

I go over to look at the unfamiliar clone.

L4-O doesn't recall Cyrus-R, other than hearing Paula-O talk about him a little, and heads over to look at the ID ccard. (OOC: rolling: 3) Ohhh yeah, it's that guy! This picture is an exact likeness to the guy that L4-O remembers from that episode of Traitor Watch they watched. You know, that guy who caused a sector to get blown up while he was there on a mission! And then there was the images from R&D, right? He showed up there, too!

But why is he here? If, as we're assuming, the sim pulls from citizens in the vicinity, then that would mean... that he's very close by...

Probably not in the sim, though; just in real life.

I look unsettled.

"Well, let's... just not think about it too hard then."

I look to see if there any other unidentified IDs to look at.

L4-O looks unsettled. If a clone like that is close by...

Well, there's not much he can do about it while he's in the sim, is there? All he can do is keep on keeping on, and rigt now that involves looking for further IDs to ID.

(OOC: rolling: 12)

Sadly, there appear to be no further skeletons present, and therefore no more IDs to scrutinise.

"I wonder if the living clones are the same... we didn't get a good look at the ones we shot, I guess..."

I take a look around to see if there's anything else interesting that I missed, before we move on.

I look at the picture and send to the > wondering if any bots will notice and comment on it.

L4-O brings up the clones... er, people who attacked them earlier. Perhaps they were also based on real clones from LOL Sector? Perhaps all of the people the sim contains were similarly based on real clones form LOL Sector?

"Something to think about," Paula-O says, "for when we find more living people."

So that about does it for these skeletons. Is there anything else in the room for them to investigate? (OOC: rolling: 8) Hmmm... table, skeletons, boxes... no, I think that covers everything.

Unless, of course, you look like that clone who is inexplicably close enough for the sim to pick him up and use his template. That clone might well try to investigate the flickering light and try to figure out if it's 'adequate' for about half an hour or so. He is creepy...

Speed-G agrees and decides to enlist his implants, pasting an image of the ID onto the chat and making notes about it... maybe Nukabot -- or some other bot -- could shed some light on things?

[Nukabot] That clone looks familiar...
[Nukabot] I have the distinct impression that a clone looking very
similar to that caused damage to me at some point in the past.
[Nukabot] However, my logs of such events seems to have been purged.

[Speed-G-DOF-6] Wait, Nukabot you are in the simulation too or the chat
                work with bots outside it?
[Nukabot ] I am still at the bunker... I have not joined any
                simulation.
[Nukabot ] It would seem that the chat can communicate outside of
                your sim.
[Lucas-O-AHK-2] that makes sense :)
[Lucas-O-AHK-2] our implants are still outside of the sim, aren't they?

I decide to move on to another room, if there is one to investigate in this building.
