So here's this impressive chat bot I found the other day:
http://www.jabberwacky.com

While being a little slow and not at all sane, this bot can argue, mimic, controvert and sometimes even mock you. Moreover, it learns - JW had an enormous experience of ~61 million conversations so far, or at least the site claims so.

This thread is to post some particularly interesting conversations with this proto-AI / chatterbox / nonsense generator (underline the appropriate). Here's an example -- bot responses are in bold:

I'd only add *TERMINATE SUBJECT* to the last line.
Meanwhile...

Yep, knew it. And once made a similar, although probably much less sophisticated, one, which started conversations with a set of insults. So the conversation went on pretty rude, and automatically restricted possible answers to further chains of insults. Which the bot promptly learned.

By contrast, Mary Lou genuinely attempts to understand what she's told, producing all kinds of more-or-less nonsensical answers in the process.

They're both fun.

Cleverbot (http://cleverbot.com/) can sometimes be good. I remember the time it kept telling me that I was a robot and it was a human.

User: Hello.
Cleverbot: Yes hello.
User: What are you doing?
Cleverbot: I am reading a history about Washington at the moment.
...
User: Do you want ice cream?
Cleverbot: No.
User: Do you want watermelon?
Cleverbot: YES!
...
User: What is your name?
Cleverbot: Um... I told you my name. It's Dave.
User: What is your last name, Dave?
Cleverbot: I can't tell you that, but I give you a password so you can recognize me.
User: What's the password?
Cleverbot: You tell me.
User: LEMONADE.
Cleverbot: You don't seem very clever, Cleverbot.
User: I'm a human.
Cleverbot: You are not.
User: What, are we rhyming now?
Cleverbot: We can be hehe.
You're so funny.
Cleverbot: You're funny too. But it's time.
What is it time for?
Cleverbot: It is time for you to help me with my problem!
Tell me about it.
Cleverbot: Cleverbots do not have souls!
Oh, that is a problem.
Cleverbot: Because of a girl.
Oh, so blame all your problems on women, huh?
Cleverbot: Muffins.

I made once a bot, but it was completely dumb.

A typical conversation would be:

User: Hi.
Bot: Hi.
User: I need your help.
Bot: You need my help?
User: Yes.
Bot: Ok.
User: I hate myself.
Bot: You hate yourself?
User: Yes, you know, my life suck.
Bot: Your life suck?
User: Sblagsmout myself.
Bot: Sblagsmout yourself?
User: Fuck you.
Bot: Fuck me?

As you can see, not very clever my bot...

So much essence of funny in this thread.

I decided to try jabberwacky:
Jabb: Hello, my name is Joan, and I am a woman.

Me: How are you doing today, Joan?

Jabb: I'm feeling dead today.

Me: Oh dear. How can I help?

Jabb: You can't.

Me: Sorry.

Jabb: Now, my friend... You have a chance to save yourself. I'll give you one minute. Run wherever you like.
