| | | | As TotalBiscuit would say...
WTF is Dark Souls? | | | | |
|
| | | | The unofficial sequel to Demon's Souls, the legendary game.
Basically noted for it's unrelenting difficulty and refusal to pull any punches.
It also has the closest thing to a perfect combat system in an action RPG, which will remain unchanged for Dark Souls.
Both games also ooze atmosphere and tension, as they are made by the guys who made (and considered the spiritual successor to the) Kingsfield games.
It's unlike most games of the genre in that, when some huge hulking behemoth appears looking like it's going to kick your ass... it is. In Demon's Souls you die in the tutorial stage.
|
 | | | | Souble post, but it's also known for it's unique online features, as you can see the ghostly images of other people playing the game at the same time as you. You can view how other players died by touching their bloodstain, summon dead players to help you, and even invade another player's world and hunt them down.
Heck, you even can be summoned (whether you want to or not) to be the boss of another player's game in world 3. Yeah, someone out there is playing Demon's Souls, and YOU are the end level boss.
These online features are also sticking with Dark Souls.

| | | | You can be a END LEVEL BOSS?
Wow. Just wow. That idea is... so... it made me think of other ideas that are awesome. Like a game where instead of being the villain, you are the BOSS, and must struggle against the hero, collecting resources, casting dark spells of doom and destruction, opening ancient portals to the Nether... oh sorry, Israphel on the mind.
Oh, and make it multiplayer. With heroes as other players. *finger pyramid of evil contemplation*

| | | | Could you send me a link to the other game(s) other than DK? Also, do you know where I could, ahem, acquire a copy of Dungeon Keeper 1? | | | | |

| | | | Err... No, they don't have it. They do have a search field there though, which would take all of 5 seconds to tell you that. : P | | | | |
