Hello everyone! Been some time since I've started a post here but I'm around lurking in the shadows watching you.

I have a question for my fellow nerds, geeks, paladins, friends and enemies. The question pertains to a business venture I will be perusing very soon. And what I'm looking for particularly is a name. A name that stands out, a name that speaks to the nerds, geeks and tech world. A name that represents the business and will be stuck in there heads forever.

What is this business? What am I talking about? Who the hell is Chad? Good questions, I'll answer them now.

What is this Business?
This business will be similar to Threadless, a online clothing company that uses user submitted art to create shirts, hats and so forth. What this business will do differently is provide the designer more money, fame and all around awesomeness. Why should the company make $100,000 of your design as you make $2000? Why should your hard work not be recognized more? Why all the questions? So that's the gist of it. It'll be a online clothing store with user submitted designs centered around the geek, nerd, tech community. We print, ship do all the hard work while the designer pockets thousands of dollars depending on sales.

Why are we different?
Like I said, we offer more to the designer. Threadless and other online sites don't really pay the designer well. Threadless will give you $2,000 for a winning design. Wonderful, but the company might sale 5,000 of those shirt roughly bringing in $80,000 after expenses. Now we want to award the designer for his/her hard work so we are working on giving the designer a percentage of sales after production cost. So if we sale 5,000 shirts at $20 then you'll get roughly $16,000 or so depending on the final percentage we set up. So we are putting the designer first, we want them to stand out and actually get paid for the hard work they have done.

Sounds awesome, but what do you need from this small community?
What I need is ideas if you have any for shirt designs, or if your a artist designs themselves. I need a name, we're leaning on one name at the moment but the domain is currently taken with nothing on it. So I'm just asking for opinions, ideas, names, designs. Basically anything you awesome peeps can throw at me.

Thanks for taking the time reading this, I'm currently getting everything set up for this adventure and it'll be fun. Looking to get a Kickstarter set up to get the website up and going and expose this to the world soon.

Now that sounds cool. I might give you a design sometime in the future - are you asking for *images* to put on the shirts/hats, or actual shirt/hat designs? If the former, I think I might be interested.

As for names, I'm pretty awful at them. I'll leave suggestions to everyone else.

Designs are typically created in Photoshop (300dpi) or Illustrator Vectors.

But yes, looking for shirt designs.

If you have any designs for shirts then I'd love to look over it.

...well, you could always call the business The Duchy Of Grand Fenwick, or else just Roaring Mouse...

So your designs are at least good enough that you would buy them? That's good to know.

Yes indeed =D

Although some people DO have strange tastes...

(I saw once a girl with a self-designed T-Shirt that was just a jumble of bright colors that made everyone near her cringe, and she thought it was cool)

I love this Idea, make a website and I'll send in some (Hopefully).

And if you're really nice I might give them to you free...

Hello everyone. Some updates;

We are very close to a name, a couple we have come to are: IngenuiTee and CtrlAltTee
We are still shooting around ideas and figuring stuff out but those are our tops at the moment.

We're close to getting a web developer on board and a screen printer for the shirts. So production of the website should be starting little more then a month away and hopefully have the site up within 2 months. So that's exciting.

We're also looking to get 5 shirt designs completed and printed so that we can have them available to see on the KickStarter page and those 5 designs will be exclusive to the Kick and won't be sold to the general public. So only backers will receive them.

What we'd like is a website designed that will take the best of all shirt companies, we want the community and designers to be a big part of the process so its hard to say what will all be part of this but as we go it'll be great.

But thanks so far for the support, willing to look at any designs you have. But once the website is up and running you'll have a chance to make some serious cash for your work.

Thanks everybody!
a title is a curious thing...

I do wish there was some way I could participate. I like to write?

Oh well. I may buy a T-shirt. Pretty exciting stuff.

They might be harder for people to spell just from hearing the name (or even if they see it, but forget how it's spelt). The first one, I'd easily forget how to spell, and the second one makes sense for only those who are familiar with computers (no one else spells "control" "ctrl", and you can't pronounce "ctrl").

Well, that's how I see it, anyway.

Thanks for the input. I agree IngenuiTee would be difficult for anyone to spell, sometimes I forget!

As for CtrlAltTee, this site is going to be directed mainly to geeks, nerds, tech savy, computer users so I don't think it'll be that hard, and of course I'd have ControlAltTee directed to the same site.

But we are still shooting around names and hopefully we can get this started soon.

How about simply Slip-On?
The name seems unused.

I like CtrAltTee the best

And the winner is...

Ctrl+Alt+Tees

We will be working towards getting everything planned out so we can start the Kickstarter soon.

Some more details;

Designers start out at 10% profit, the more designs they submit, the more votes they get, the more designs of there's that win will get them points and thus as they level up they will go up in profit, maxing out at 20%. Unless they back us then they will automagically get 25% of the profits.

Now users who just vote will receive points for voting, submitting shirt ideas and other fun stuff. These points will then be redeemable for shirts and other fun stuff that'll come in the future.

So the more you do, the more you get out. Of course we're still working on the details but we'll tell everything in the kickstarter.

Also we want to have contest weekly and have giveaways of Wacom tablets, Photoshop(Legal version), Illustrator(Legal Version) and other items designers drool over at night with on hand on the keyboard. So I'll be in contact with those companies to see what I can do.

Other fun stuff?!?!?! Tons more, still working out all the details like I said and hopefully we'll be able to explain everything we want to do and what will be done when the website starts up.

So that's it for now! If you have shirt ideas or you draw and have excellent skills then get ready as we hope to have this going within a couple months.

Thanks all.

P.S - When the sites up we'll have a forum, thus needing moderators and I'm trying to get a idea who I'd like to be there. It will be paid, it'll be your job but that'll be worked out in the future. Have to see how everything goes, so if your interested and I'm sure you are just think about it and if it comes up I'll let you all know.
