|Well yesterday I was going home.|
Then two guys stopped me on the street.
Then one of them explained that he was a member of the largest rebel group in the city, and that he just escaped from prison (where he was locked up for murder) and that he was collecting money to buy new weapons to be part of the plan during the world cup.
The plan is take over the parts of the city that has reduced policing while the police is busy protecting the tourists, for that plan to work, they need weapons and trained cop killers.
Then he proceeded to show me his tatoos to prove to me he was one of the cop killers.
Then he asked money explained that by helping him, it was good, because this way they would kill the cops and take over the city, and that would be good for me in the long run, and that if he ever found me again after the plan works, he would help me somehow....
I ended giving 20 BRL (about 10 USD) to the guy, because it was what I had in the pocket, and I was not sure how dangerous they really were, and I was not wanting to find out.
But still, that gave me more chills than the last time someone "asked" for money (last time a guy pointed a loaded gun at me, and stole my wristwatch, and about 100 USD that was with me to pay a long distance bus trip...)
|More than likely it was just an elaborate plan to rob you.|

But it was still very, very amusing.
