| | | | Yes that's right, I know some science-savy people here may already know about it, but I recently read that astrologers/astronomy-ers/star-people have discovered a NINTH planet after the planet "Neptune". It's a very tiny planet with a moon that appears to be incredibly large in relation, somewhere around HALF the size of the planet! Because this new NINTH planet seems to be icy and inhospitable (and why wouldn't it be, it's the furthest from the sun), scientists have continued along the Roman God naming system and haved dubbed this new planet "Pluto". Pluto was the god of the underworld. Fitting, don't you think?
Anyway, I think it's amazing that after all this time scanning the sky, there's new things to be discovered, let alone something so monumental as a NEW planet right here in our own solar system!
Thoughts? | | | | |
| | | | Yeah a race of aliens live on it as well.
They are going to take over us ALL!
| | | | That news is so old its not funny! | | | | |
| | | | Yeah, it was discovered in 1930.... that was a looooong time ago | | | | |
| | | | Not if you where born in 1066. | | | | |
| | | | For that to happen, you would have to have been either immortalized, frozen in ice immediately and thawed out, put into a robot body, or just plain never dying. | | | | |

| | | | Oh wow! Next step will be alien contact. | | | | |
| | | | I've heard rumors of a tenth planet called Quaoar. | | | | |
| | | | Right now Quaoar isnt a planet, but a kupier belt object, just like some people think pluto isnt really a planet... | | | | |
| | | | I personally consider Quaoar a planet and not just another icy asteroid in the kuiper belt, but that's just my opinion. | | | | |
| | | | Its smaller than pluto, its not a planet... its just a floating hunk of ice | | | | |
| | | | Personally, I thought Varuna was the closest, its practically right next to Plutos orbit.. and seems to be for much of Plutos orbit (Almost 1/2), closer.
Actually, checking Celestia, Ixion is even closer than Varuna, making it even closer for most of the time.. still out of Plutos orbit, I think.
| | | | *wonders why he flew to quaoar in orbiter*
Why did it become so fameous then?
| | | | Because it was all over the news and such, and it is one of the bigger kupier belt objects... | | | | |
