I found them even more boring than Lord of the Rings (troll, double feature).

No way. And boring isn't the same as great writing style. I don't find them boring.

Crichton's "Jurassic Park"... I loved it back when I were seven, eight, nine, ten... Now I revived the memories and turns out that I still love it. Excellent book.

Jurassic Park is one of my favorite books (duh ) I've read it so many times that even though my copy is missing pages 18-26 I know exactly what happens between those pages and I fill it all in and keep reading.

Hey, same for me, even though the last time I read it before yesterday was ten years ago! I found that I remember some scenes exactly word-by-word, but despite knowing so good what will happen next, I still enjoyed it a lot. It's a great book because it has a very good fabular line, but mainly because it evokes EMOTIONS. You get hooked from the very first line and feel emotionally bound with the characters. I hated it when T-rex attacked SOMEONE , and simply skipped the part when raptors got SOMEONE ELSE because I knew what was going to happen anyway and didn't want to read about him getting killed. Ahh, I could go on and on with this, but I have proven my point already. One of the greatest books ever, period.

Damn, the JP books must be of supremely shoddy quality! I had a paperback in the old days, too. The first fifty pages came loose almost before I had even finished reading them! But yeah, damn fine book. I should definitely read it again.

Mine is in shoddy quality because I bought it for 50 cents at a second hand store and I didn't do too good of a job at taking care of it (though it was pretty beaten up when I bought it), plus with all the moving we've done and stuff. It's in bad shape, the last time I saw the books cover was four years ago

Sorry for spoilers, I just incorrectly assumed that everyone already read through that book. I'll change that in a minute. By the way, the copy I used to read, from my library, was literally falling apart. More than half of its pages were loose, but it didn't make a difference to me.

This is in the publisher's best interest. By releasing a popular book made of substandard materials, with pages held in place using Post-it Note glue, they stand to sell more copies as the originals wear out. They spread proganda to further their cause, telling readers not to "judge a book by its cover". : )

The cover is pristine! It's what's INSIDE the cover that's falling apart! So they're trying to encourage people to actually judge them by their cover! But we are on to them!
